"That Horse Race Pie" Recipe

"That Horse Race Pie" Recipe

If you ever have been to Kentucky you've probably heard of Derby Pie. Derby Pie is one of my favorite deserts. Although, Derby Pie is a trademarked name so I'm calling this "That Horse Race Pie"  They say all the best food is made with love. Well they are wrong the best foods are made with bourbon.

I hope you enjoy as much as I do. If you are anything like me I like the bourbon to be strong so I add a little more.

Ingredients:

1 cup butter (melted)

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

1/2 cup flour

1 cup chocolate chips

1 (9) inch unbaked pie shell ( you can make your own crust if you are not lazy like me)

1 tbs bourbon

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 cup pecans (chopped)

Cream butter and sugars. Add vanilla, eggs and flour. Stir in chocolate, bourbon, and pecans.

Bake on 350 degrees for 45mins

1 cup

pecans (chopped)
